Do you have tinnitus? (pg. 3)

Well I dunno much about earplugs or how good the cheap ones are, but I think the cheap ones are kinda crap, they might say they can cut 20db off, but at what frequencys and are they a good fit for your ear, the more expensive ones can be custom to fit your ear perfect and you can get them to cut like 25db across all frequencys, I think this is correct, but anything that reduces the noise will help abit, plus if the club has a really good sound system tuned properly you can have loud music and walk out the club with your ears pretty much fine.

I have tried the low cost foamy ones, at a club before and they cut out ALOT of the hard frequencies. Almost to much as I couldn't really hear the music. haha... needless to say I pulled them out and was blasted away. The ones I used are the same that I would use for weedwhipping, as they are made to block out frequencies that are created from Chainsaws, weedwackers, etc...

So what if a track uses a weedwacker real loud in the buildup to the track, you won't hear it, thats why you need the top quality plugs.

Well my only question for you who has tinnitus, are u sensitive to nosie more than u used to be ? cuz if so I don't think I'll go clubbing anymore...the bass in israeli parties just kills me and I was wondering if tinnitus only makes noises and doesn't affect sensitivity

Just like most of the ppl, i am only able to notice it if i were to focus on the high pitched sound. But i shake my head and its fades off. Like its fades off soo smoothly...it facinates me.
Geoff
i hear it sometimes when i wake up and it's hella quiet

Uhm, they just recently found a cure for tinnitus:rolleyes: I saw it on the discovery channel:o Anyway, the treatment was as follows:

The patient goes to see an audioligst who pinpoints the exact freqeuncies the tinnitus takes up i.e 19Khz+ Then a special cd of pinknoise is formulated with the tinnitus frequencies removed. The patient is then required to listen to this cd (for up to 4 months I think) every night. The explanation given (I can't remember it exactly) was that the brain gets retrained and learns to compresses the frequencies that are missing from the pinknoise once you stop listening to the cd.

Ok, well I see a few people have really mild tinnitus (I think to some extent everyone has). However, after I got back from a PVD set a few years ago, I had the worst excruciating ringing in my ears 24/7. I actually ended up getting quiet depressed and couldn't cope with anything.

THANK ING GOD IT WENT AWAY AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF:nervous:
