William Orbit 's Barbers Adagio for strings

I don't know if this has been up for discussion in an earlier discussion thread but did you know that William Orbit took the melody of the Platoon theme (that old Nam movie) and used it in "Barber's Adagio for Strings". I thought this might be interesting since I know a lot of you (including me)love the Ferry remix of the song.
There is another song with this melody in it too, "Just Another day (Platoon theme remix)" but I'm not sure who produced it, but I know it's a well know track :)
Anywayz, I just thought it would be interesting to know . BTW Platoon is a pretty cool movie. Have you seen "Full Metal Jacket"? I love that movie.. :p |

Hence it's called Barber's Adagio for Strings...
because its Adagio for Strings, composed by Samuel Barber.

..lol.. Barbers Adagio for Strings was written decades ago :p:)
the one called 'Another Day' was done by Skip Raiders.. with a wicked Perfecto Mix with it ;)
and yes, full metal jacket is a top class film :D |

yeah thats true..i love that mix..this is 1 of few songs where i like the lyrics 2:) "jada" does a nice job on that part i say:D:D:D

Barber's Adagio is definately a top class track (my all time favourite as you can see:D )
If you like this tune you should also check out Ferry's remix of William Orbit - "Ravel's Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte" (or "Ravels" for short), another remake of a classic tune, the original made by Maurice Ravel. If you don't have it already, get it! :D |
