.o)Coming March 10th(o.

New additions:
The MASTER class devices:
-Compressor
-Stereo Imager
-High-Quality Parametric/Shelving EQ
-Look-ahead Volume Maximizer

The COMBINATOR:
-Use all 4 of the above mastering tools inside it for a quick EQ/Master of any song!
-8 customizable controllers
-A sub-rack for your big rack

HARDWARE integration:
-No setup required
-Supports multiple devices with machine parts (mixers w/ mechanical faders, for ex.)

OTHER items:
-New browser
-Better sequencer
-Bigger soundbank

I for one will be grabbing this as soon as it hits shelves. No way am I using 25 different Maelstroms for one saw track any more! To hell with Soundforge! (just kidding....) No more pulling out my hair over the damned sequencer just not having a "mute all" button.

I have high hopes....

I'm buying this for shure...it's pretty well timed because I've just found a job so I can finally afford to pay for what I'm using and damn...it's a wonderfull feeling ;)

I moved over almost completly to cubase not long ago but if the new stuff like the compressor and EQ works good I'll prolly find my way back to reason again :)

Im waiting one more month for P5 II.
It'll kick REASONS bum.:stongue:

I'll wait until I've mastered Reason to switch (if I even choose to).

It's like learning guitar; you don't go and buy a Gibson Les Paul Van Halen edition guitar when you can barely churn out Metallica songs...

Have you consider buy and used real synth? Like an Nord Lead 2, Roland JP8000, Access Virus b?

The total from buying to upgrading from Reason 2.5 to 3.0, you'll spend US$500??

A little more investiment and you have a real gear.

I know there's a lot of diference, but I use vst's plugins just to know how my sound is, and then I setup my synth and hardware effects to get an very warmer sound (I have a Nord Lead 3).

Neither Reason or any Vst's plugins sounded fat and warmer like my Nord Lead 3, maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's because I want to play Live with a real synth (not just with a notebook).

But it's my oppinion. Reason is very cool, the Redrum kickass, but I don't know why it costs too much (consider that you have to run it on a good PC) in comparison with a real good synth!

I've come to realize that hardware is to much work compared to software synths, and considering that virus has a software version now there's really no need to go full out on hardware any more unless you really like that way of working compared to going fully software :)

but it's getting a bit off topic now imo. :p

i've leaned to the software side of things (especially when i can purchase the novation remote 61 :eyes: :eyes: ) right now just using the m-audio radium 61.

so in reason 3.0 i could have both these controllers on different patches??? that'd be cool.

with the quality of vsts, and the versatility of reason, using them in conjunction with one another through cubase makes for some good music!!!

if i were to get hardware, i'd get the roland fantom-x8...it costs $2800US...but is it sweet...i can play that thing for hours in the store, definately my favorite piece of hardware i've tried out (of course i do more music then just trance, or EDM...so i like the nice collection of real sounds)
