What you guys think of this some what new technology coming out? Should be wide spread by 2010 or 2012. Its part of what makes up 802.16 or mostly know as WiMax, plus something known as; W-OFDM can help or preform better then WiMax (i need to read more about it)
4G can possibly transmit 1 Gbps. Something like that, will never have to have a modem in out house anymore all computers would just need a wireless adapater hooked to their computers to access the net.
Were already 3-4 years behind Japan with cell phone and networking Technology.
Were still running on GSM and CDMA in Canada.Hopefully we can swith to WCDMA(UMTS) sometime in 2005, or ealry 2006. Part of the USA is using UMTS already since 2004. UMTS can transfer upto 2 mbps or thats WCDMA (HSDPA).
Minority Report (the movie) technology like that can be real in the next decade. Companies are already working on paper thin displays you can role up and pull out.
Wireless age has begun but slowly :(
Able to watch tv with no cable connection because part of this technoloy helps with transfering video at high speeds.
On another note; India, Japan, South Korea and China (might start using 4G as soon as 2006). We didnt even start using 3G in Canada yet.
If you use a laptop and connect to the internet with Telus which has unlimited internet for $100/month at a slow speed up like 64 kbps or wtv, imagine with 4G able to surf faster then most internet companies and most laptops can rival home pc's.
It's a growing market for information on demand.
I for sure dont see a use for a pc in the future. |

Most of the new cell phones that r coming out use the 3G technology ...

I know, plus cell phones in Japan and Korea you can watch tv on them which is cool.
Be nice here... I could watch BBC.
Hope we do swtich to 3G, life would be some what easier for ppl.
Cant wait until 2020 (real future for technology, which everyone would be the same)
Seeing with new technology for cell phones... hard lines are going to die... no use to have home phones (the way I see it)
One thing, we should start using fuel cells or hydrogen generators instead of paying hydro (true cost a fortune, but be great in the long run. never loose electricity) |
