I think that here on TA we often lose touch with the main thing that we all come here for, which is of course, to have a great time at a party.

We argue about our musical preferences and how trance died for the 3rd time this week. We get pulled away from the music and the parties we love by the sad routines of daily life, and of course we chat nonsense in the COR to releive stress and whatnot.

But we forget the most important thing, the big reason why we have all come to this board in the first place.

So how about we get back to our roots and talk about parties again for a change?

I'm sure lots of you have those moments you experience while your out that you'll never forget. Despite all the problems that it has, this scene has given us so many good times, so lets all just post some of those and try not to piss each other off in this thread.

I'll start, this is a quote from my friend's review of a recent even in Charlotte, which also captures the great time I had there too.

"WAIT A MINUTE! WAIT A MINUTE! WAIT A MINUTE!

Where was I Friday night? Sky in Charlotte, North Carolina? No, can't be! There are NEVER any All-Trance parties in Charlotte. But there I was, in Sky, with my friends, rocking out to the finest trance ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Kevin, thanks so much for taking a chance on the music that so many of us love so much (and take a lot of abuse for).

I think Karma did an outstanding job playing epic trance for the first time. There was a small crowd for so early in the night and they never stopped showing us love. Micro's set was a little different than I'm used to hearing. Tough, chunky beats with just a touch of epic. The standout track for me was Eric Prydz's "Call On Me"

But the absolute highlight of the evening was George & Melissa's tag set. Pounding, energetic, soaring, euphoric & beautiful. Everything a trance head like myself could want in a set. The view from the dance floor was pure magic, people dancing, smiling, and completely into it. I haven't hugged that many strangers since my last bona fide "rave" which was more than a couple of years ago.

The party ended on such a high-note that we just said, " it!" and invited everyone over to our place for an impromptu after party. And as an added treat, Kevin decided to join us for the post-party festivities with Micro!!! Meeting and talking with him was an absolute joy! What a generous and down-to-earth guy!

Thanks again to all the Spins people who came out to support! I will remember this experience for the rest of my life!"

here is another one from another friend who was also there that night:
"WOW!!! I don't even know where to begin! This night was truly amazing from start to finish. All the DJs were on point and the vibe was incredible! Koji and Karma, always a pleasure to hear them spin. They did an amazing job of opening the night, and Karma, I think you need to consider spinning epic trance more often!! Very Happy
Scott Modie tore it up as well, and played one of my favorite tracks! (tribal shock) He built it up and everyone was dancing their asses off by the time micro came on.
and Micro.... WOW!! What an incredible set!! Words cannot even describe it! And for him to come back and spin 3 or 4 more tracks at the end?!!! What an amazing DJ!!
And to close out the night, George and I...... What an incredible experience!! George tore it up like he always does!! It is always a pleasure to spin side by side with him! And my first time spinning at the club, I was nervous at first. But as soon as I saw the crowd I was in a completely different world!! The crowd is truly what made the night for me!
Thanks Kevin for throwing such a great party! And thanks to the crowd and all the support I have had from the beginning. This has to go down as the best night I have ever had in my entire life!!! Cloud 9"

anyway, its really fun to talk about the good times and I don't think we do that enough anymore, so post your party experiences, cuz they are so much fun to read.

Blah, blah, blah. Did it once in the grass with an Indian chick from India. Thought that was cool at the time.

not so much a party story, but a good one of mine.

i was in the army for 2 years after highschool. i hated it. i remember this one lt. his 'daddy' was the flippin general of the california national gaurd. and this guy scared the out of a lot of the noobs at the time. he said he ALWAYS wanted them to salute them or they would be punished. so i, being the outstanding prick that i was, saluted every chance i could get after he was assigned to our station. i would even get up 5 minutes early and run out to salute this guy. the best part is, i hated him. that's why i did it so much. oh, and, partially, every morning he would be carying a big in stack of books in one hand, and a cup of coffee in the other, so if anyone saluted him, protocol stated that he must salute back. so he would always drop all his books or sipll coffee over his shirt. after 3 days of such persistance, if i got anywhere withcin 20 feet he would yell "O'Donnell, get the HELL away from me!"

:wtf: :stongue:

Don't get it. You're trying to make a general salute or something? I only returned have of the privates' salutes as an officer because they hadn't earned the respect. I ran a Reception Battalion anyhow and about one in twenty even knew how to salute from the get go anyway.

Oh, the Lieutenant. Got one in every unit. Over-educated and dumber than hell... Sorry, misunderstood you.
