Daniel, go to
http://www.access-music.de
click on support and then click on Virus C (Hardware related
downloads's column)
and find the "Virus programming tutorial by Howard Scarr" (there are two versions: in spanish or english).
This tutorial is about programming analog synths and others in
Virus C. Great tutorial.
In http://www.soundonsound.com/Content...nth=8&Year=2004
you will find the "Access Virus Masterclass -
Synth Programming Workshop", but you should have account in order to access this content (eu irei te enviar ele).
In http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/
you will find an interesting Virus Forum moderated by Sunesha. There are a lot of things there.

Twist the knobs, press some buttons. Hit save.
You've just created a patch! :D |

not on a virus. twiddle some rotaries on a virus and you'll come up with some weird, bassy, sludgy, sound.
and to top it all off, you wont know how you made that sound or how to avoid making that sound in future.
what a horrible predicament to be in.
the first stop for any virus owner: THE MANUAL.
read it. memorise it.
then read howard scarr's excellent tutorial on the access main page.
memorise that too. build that bass patch from memory. so that you can roughly get that sound over and over and not have to consult the manual or the tutorial. then do somethings different. change the envelope settings. increase the attack and sustain and release, open the filter up a bit and try to turn it into a different kind of sound - less a bass sound. more a pad type sound. basically get familiar with every parameter on the virus, what it does. what effect it has on the sound and on the other parts of the virus. take it slow and only change one setting at a time. otherwise you will get very confused. very quickly. |
