Can somebody explain how to make a similar bass like probspot uses, only have Vanguard to use !!! Don't know if it is possible with that,or is it only a long bass pad with a peak controller on it ?

I can't really answer this off the top of my head, but I do know how to make that sound(or similiar). The initial bass sound you'll have to get as close as possible just by messing around with your plugins(or whatever you're using). once you have that, inpsert a compressor on the bass track with an external key using the kick track. take the automakup gain off(if it's there). Next mess with the threshold and ratio till you get that rythm that they use. I find it's somwhere around -20dB thresh, 6.1 ratio, with a fast attack, and maybe a bit slower release, but still quick. this will make the bassline "duck" when the kick hits and slide up in amplitude when the kick isn't there.
Hopefully this is what you were asking

anymore questions feel free to email me.
I have a sample of the sound-alike bassline on my computer if you want to hear it let me know, I'll send it to you.

good luck

isnt the bassline already just a offbeat bassline? u dont have to duck then
moth
He usually doesnt use an offbeat... its more onbeat with a slow attack.

i was also fairly certain it was offbeat

would have to agree my dear chap

wouldn't be surprised if he ducks it a tad on top of that tho

Shows how much u can make out listening to dodgy rips from gdjb.

hypercompression :(

Yeah probspot uses sidechaining to duck like all his basslines. It sounds good but then it starts to get boring after a while :/
He rarely uses the standard offbeat bassline afaik, tho it may sound a bit like that sometimes due to slow attack and major ducking x)

While the style of bassline may not be very inventive, I still find them thrilling. The low end comes through so very lush while preserving a phat punchy kick. My favorite is the bassline in Blueberry.
