| Ok my DJ setup is just about complete, and I know I will be spinning progressive house. What are some good tunes to begin with that will make learning to beatmatch easier? You guys know what I mean I think, stuff with a very obvious bassline, etc. |

| anything with a good solid clear drum beat will help u get started beat matching took me about a month or so practicing every day to get decent at it. but rember find ur on style :) |

find a record store on the internet that has sound samples of what you like.....buy some, and go from there....
You don't need someone elses opinion to tell you what you should like... |

You don't need anyone to hold your hand and tell you what records are good. Buy ones you like that have prominent kicks and workable intros. Just scan through your MP3 collection and pick songs that fit that description. |

Nobody can tell you... Just go to a record shop and spend the day digging. That's how many of us do it... Also, check out whitelables, and grab as much things you've never heard of, trust me you'll find lots of good stuff you've never knew existed./ |

| buy a couple of hard house records as they have tough kicks and once you learn to beatmatch sell em and buy some prog house :D |

just put some vinyl on the platter and listen in ur headphones to see if the bass is obvious.
Hard trance is the easiest genre to learn to beatmatch i think very solid basslines pretty easy to tell which track is going faster or slower. |

i'd buy a bunch of vinyl with long drum intros that don't have a whole lot going on for the first minute or so except the drums.. uh...
three drives - greece 2000
billie ray martin - honey (chicane club mix)
randy katana - in silence (txitarrro remix)
kamaya painters - far from over
darude - sandstorm
just about anything from ferry |

Along with the above-mentioned clear drum kick, I recommend getting some varied snare/hi-hat/clap patterned tracks(something besides the stereotypical kick-snare,kick-snare).
I say this because while your learning to match the kicks, listen to the snare/hi-hat/clap patterns, you'll pickup the common patterns, and eventually be able to match kicks to claps..etc.)
