There really isn't much around there...except for china town...but I dont want to go to china town!

I think it will be hard to find somethign thats open late on a sunday night:(

You guys think the bistro/cafe place inside the Palais will be open??

The old port and there is the new upscale hotel "W"

We could do a meet up there but... someone has to call and ask if we can get ppl on the guestlist.

I thik the "W" is way too fancy...I doubt we can show up there with our sneakers and all...especially on a sunday night, it will be filled with business men in suits....wait....:p

Alright peeps, so my friend fawz (thanks habibi :p) just scouted the area and gave me a call just a while ago with some good news. Apparently, there's a Cefe Depot (and a Cafe Republique) on St. Urbain and St. Catherine which is about 5 minutes walking distance from the Palais. It's big enough to fit everyone (I'm assuming 20-30 people), and hopefully it's open Sunday night at least till 10:00PM. I'll make some quick phone calls to make sure, but I just wanted your feedback regarding doing the meetup at a Cafe Depot.
ninjahola
do they sell booze at cafe depot?
:D

Yeah the W is good, 3 lounges a bit expensive though to drink but nice place for a meet up and been there already with cargo pants they didn't tell me anything ...

Or we can stick to Cafe Depot or i guess Cafe republique is better no ? ( for reservation and drinks :D )

lol...Blinks, the W is waaaay too classy for this type of meeting. Plus, it's going to be too expensive if you're hellbent on drinking before. Personally, I don't mind, although I'm pretty sure the majority will. As for Cafe Republique versus Cafe Depot, I would prefer Cafe Republique, but the issue is the amount of people we're going to be. The Cafe Depot is huge, and could easily accomodate 30 people, as opposed to the Cafe Republique, whose size I'm not familiar with. Also, I called up the Cafe Depot there, and they're open 24 hours, so that's good to know. I don't know about the Cafe Republique, although I assume they should be open late also. If I was in Montreal, I would have definitely checked our options out in more detail, but I'm not. So unless someone takes that initiative, we're going to have to play it by ear :p

I'm there ! After last years madness it's simply unforgivable to skip this one, even despite the not-so-great lineup !
