I just witnessed something... insane.

I just got back from taking my girlfriend and two other friends down to Burlington for Krispy Kreme donuts. (3AM KK runs are awesome.)
So, we're heading southbound on I-5 through the curves just south of Bellingham... when this older pickup comes blowing up on my left side.
He cuts really close to me, swerves away from me, crosses the white line on the lefthand side of the road (I was on the outside lane) and just keeps on driving... right into the ditch. He pops back out of it, swerves again, then back into the ditch, and then the ing unthinkable happens.
He flips.
Twice.
Midair.
And lands on the ing wheels, in the ditch, sideways.
Everyone in my car is like, "OMG WTF WOW!" I immediately pull over, hit the hazard lights, bail out of my car and charge across the road into the ditch to make sure this dude is alive and everything. As I'm walking up to him, he pushes his door open, steps out, looks at me, and says, "I'm cool, dude. Thanks for stopping."
He then walks up and shakes my hand, looks back at his truck, and reaches for his cell phone. A few other motorists stopped as well, including what seemed to be a group of his friends. It was then that I noticed that they all seemed to be drunk or high or something. The guy who flipped the truck all over the place looked rather lit.
So, anyway, we made sure everything was alright one last time and got back in the car. On the way back, we saw a cop and a wrecker... so I assume someone called it in.
The amazing thing is that this guy didn't have a scratch on him and the truck didn't look too banged up. I honestly don't think it touched the road for more than a split second. |

Anyways, Thats an amazing story...landed on its wheels!? Thats...odd. Usually when a car flips it will still have sideways motion so when its lands on its wheels it should atleast tip over (not that im doubting you)
Good story.

| Damn man, that is insane. It really ing pisses me off when people drive drunk, though. My sister's ex-boyfriend's sister was on a motorcycle at a stop light one night. A car full of drunk girls that happened to be part of the upper-echelon of my town came barreling down the road, ran a red light and killed her and severely injured her boyfriend. The girls weren't charged for a thing. That's why drunk driving is a big sore spot to me. |

| A friend of mine got done for Drink driving. His friend called him up and she was being attacked/raped by a group of blokes. He drove over to her house quite drunk but got pulled by the police. He got 18 month driving ban and a £800 fine... Bit of an iffy subject really. He was driving for a fairly good cause, but he could have killed people...Guess he should have called the police rather than deal with it himself. |

I've got a similar story, not quite as cool but, little bit of a lessoned learned for one of the parties.
It's about midnight and I'm driving my girlfriend and her friend to downtown Dallas to go clubbing.
In about 2 miles the highway we are on will split into a Y and I'm in the far left lane which will carry us North. The middle lane will allow you go in either direction and that's where I need to be to go South.
So I check my mirrors and notice there is a pick-up truck kinda in my blind spot. Nobody else on the road for 30 car lengths in either direction.
So I start speeding up a little bit so i can merge over. He does too and now he's right up next to my car, matchin my speed. So I let off the gas so he can go by and I can merge. He slows up too. So I start speeding up again and he does the same thing.
Then I notice that it's a couple of young guys in the pick-up. He thinks he's being funny or something, probably because Erin & Amanda are on that side of the vehicle. The guys are kinda smiling but they won't look over at me when I looked at them.
So I got a little mad.
I dropped it into third and took off. Got in front of them and merged over into the middle lane and probably said a swear word or two.
So then the pick-up truck merges over into the left hand lane and comes up next to me again. He pulls right up next to me and matches speed again for probably 3 or 4 seconds.
Then he s himself.
This dude swerves at me like he's trying to hit me! Like a hard swerve too, not some little "oooooh I'm coming into your lane ooooooooh" bull.
So as he pulls the wheel back so he doesn't hit me, he loses the back end of the truck. He starts heading directly towards the concrete barrier in the middle of the highway. I'd let off the gas at this point, so I'm back maybe half a car length. The kid tries to correct himself maybe 2 more times from going out of control and then just eventually loses it. He shoots directly across the front of us, missing us by about a car length. Crosses the other lanes and shoulder and down into the ditch and starts flipping. He probably rolled about 5 times. You could see dirt and grass flying all over the place.
So I pulled over to the side of the road and called 911 immediately and told them the location. I get out of my car and start running back to the wreck and I see that there are already 2 cars stopped and people checking out. So I got back in my car and left. I doubt that dude really wanted to see me anyway.
Can you imagine explaining that to your insurance company? Or your parents? What a terrible way to total your truck, because you were driving like an ass. |

Punisher, that's in' CRAZY. Someone up above musta loved this guy to death if he went through all that and didn't get a scratch. :eyes:

Yeah, it's so ironic that drunk drivers, when they get in crashes, usually escape unharmed while the unfortunate innocent motorists are the ones to pay..
