hey ive just started out useing fl the other day and i have a question.....some of the syths when used just play the note/sound the syth is supposed to make continuesly even when the pattern in a given song has ended and was wondering how do you stop this from happening or is it just part of the syths? thx for puttin up wit a n00b:crazy:

to answer your question .... it's part of the synths. you might wanna research into how synths work, sothat you'll understand how to make sounds from them. *hint*: ADSL envelope
Libra.
in order to stop the synth from endlessly playing you must make your synth patterns in the piano roll. only make your drums and non melodic sounds on the pattern sequencer. in order to do this you must right click on synth channel and click on piano roll.

ps i think this is a fruity loops bug? maybe mistaken

I guess you could consider it a bug. Just as a sample being triggered though the step sequencer will play all the way through even if the pattern does not continue, a synth will do the same, having no specified end.
Simply do as Libra suggested. Notes placed in the piano roll have a specified end or release that tells the synth to release a note. This doesnt necessarily mean the synth will respond exactly this way, as Foo mentioned, an ADSR (ADSL?? the internet??) envelope will also effect the resultant sound. With a slow attack the note will sound to begin after the note in the piano roll. With no sustain and a low decay, the note will play for a shorter time than the note drawn in the piano roll. With a long release, the note will play seemingly longer than the note in the piano roll.
