Not for long. They're doing one in New York. Should be interesting.

MaxC,

Have you ever been to the DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival)?
I understand it has been free and the turnout was huge.

Hot, crowded and dirty. :o

What was the temperature at last year's Ultra event? Cuz it looks to be a cooler temperature this year. So far, the forecast may be in the low 70's. Do you recommend us wearing shorts and a t-shirt?
What about at night, it should get cooler then, right?

What do you recommend?

I never saw dogs sniffing, but there are a bunch of undercovers, police on horses heh and such.. there's always arrests because of overdoses or ppl selling or consuming ... I dont do drugs so I dont know what other info i could tell, just for what Ive seen

But I can get drunk out there, right? Do they just sell beer or do they have liquor as well? I usually drink crown and coke or jack and sprite.

Also, how hard is it to get your drinks when you are in the middle of the crowd near the main stage? Is it easy to get in and out?

Depends on the stages you go to. Mainly everywhere you step is grass and dirt, but not a SANDSTORM like the one we endured for Party 93.1's Free 4th of July Bash 3.0 last year. Okay, we got so covered in dirt and soot that we had black boogers for a solid week, and at least 5 or 6 of us got sick as a result.

The bottom line: if you're gonna wear sandals/flip-flops, wear thin socks.

Been the fact that is an outdoor event, been in the grass still gets ur feets dirty... I saw lots of chicks wearing flip flops, bikinis and such.. that is up to you.

AS for getting beer and such, I can only say that there's peeps waling around with water, with Alcohol I dont quite remember... ALcohol is pretty expensive in the event, beer or what-not.. they do card you when u buy, so be 21+.. I dont remember seen drunk peeps, more like drugged up lol.. but thats it, police shouldnt be a hard ass on drunks, is not like I remember seen any.. perhaps drinkers that have gone can answer better ;-)

About the temperature, I highly suggest shorts and shirt. Sat is schedule to be in the 80's... mostly sunny, so yeah, dancing off in the sun in the 80's will b hot .. with the big body mass there is, is almost impossible to get cold.. it will go in the low 70's, which is not COLD at all.

Sweeeeeet. Thanks for the great info guys. What do you recommend taking up there? I heard that the girls should take toilet paper with them cuz the porta potties are gross. I will put a roll in my wife's "Backpack purse" I say backpack purse cuz I heard that guys cannot take a backpack or bag in there with them. I am also going to hide our digital camera in her purse somehow.

Any additional input? Thanks in advance... you guys rock!
