Why was my thread about burning streaming media deleted?

Yeah, I went back to get the link to streamripper that was posted in that thread and the whole thing was deleted. If we're talking about the same thread.
Since, I always delete, at first I thought I started the thread and accidentally deleted it.
Then I thought, noooooooo. I'd never start a thread in MD. So I thought maybe you (the actual thread starter) deleted it.
Now, it's clear that you didn't delete it; I can only surmise it was deleted by a mod which means maybe it is related to this stickied thread in MD:
MP3 Info: Information on where to get MP3's from - hubs, peer to peer etc
I dunno but maybe? |

Echo, thanks for the reply. If the mod decided to delete it, I did not get notice of that, neither by him/her posting in that thread, nor by PM. Furthermore, the intent of my thread was not to inquire about methods to burn music mp3s, nor was that my intention. I find it disconcerting that a mod could make such a baseless assumption, and proceed to act on it without consulting with me a priori. If whoever deleted my thread is actually reading this, please respond. (Obviously Echo, my tirade was not directed at you, but at the potential mod responsible for this). |

Your thread was prolly deleted because it goes against common policy on this forum which is not to encourage the sharing of MP3, cracked software, warez etc and also not to encourage the ripping of streams where a lot of copyrighted material is broadcast.
the laws of each country vary but to keep on the safe side, we do not encourage such activities.
