Neo, first of all, closing my second thread about my inquiry with regards to why my first thread was deleted is completely and totally unfair, considering the fact that I did not have a chance to present my point of view for everyone to judge. You've basically painted me as someone who doesn't understand or recognize the purpose of TA, or its rules, by stating your supposed hunch as to why it was closed, without allowing me to post in return. I must say that's completely off the mark. It's with that in mind that I post the PM I sent you :
"Neo, with all due respect, deleting my thread before inquiring about its purpose is ludicrous. I felt I needn't expound on why I needed information about doing so, assuming, and I now reckon naively, that whoever had a problem with that would at the very least ask about my purpose in posting such a thread.
We're inviting a political speaker, Norman Finkelstein, to come and talk about the Palestinian Israeli conflict and the misuse of anti-semitism with regards to this topic in our university, and we have gotten his approval to rip a talk he gave in Vancouver in September of 2004 in streaming media off of his website in order to distribute it to people who have slow connections to the net or people without access to the net.
I felt I did not need to go into such detail in the COR, seeing as that was somewhat unecessary. If you, after reading the above, feel that my purpose is legitimate, but still feel that information provided by other users in my thread could have been potentially used for non-legitimate purposes by others who would have acquired such information, then I would have been more than happy to include a sentence urging anyone with information to send it to me through PM.
At any rate, I ask you to consider my request and inquire as to who was behind this. Thanks,

I don't want to transform this into a war of any sort with Neo, since I respect the work that he does. However, I was completely miffed by the deletion of my thread, followed by the closing of my second one, which was completely unfair, seeing as I had no chance to justify my position. At the very least, he could have waited for my justification before closing it. |

The problem here is that TA is a dictatorship. Whether our posts our justified or not, they can be manhandled by the mods whichever way they want.
I thought he was posting a message to WN but turns up he was posting it for us to see. Weird. |

Boomer, I did PM him already (I posted my PM), and I return and see my second thread closed, with his post being the final one, painting me, perhaps not on purpose, as potentially "encouraging" behaviour that I do not condone in the least. |

I was posting it for public viewing because I refuse to allow his final post in the thread that was closed to be the last on this topic, simply because TAs would then be under the impression that I was somehow seeking information for illegitimate purposes, which I clearly was not. |

It would have helped if you had said that in the first place instead of just complaining the thread was deleted.
all u did was ask for a way of ripping a stream, 2nd thread again did not mention the purpose of why u wanted such software.
The mods of TA are not mind readers.
now i am sure someone will PM u the info u need, if not PM boomer.
