Heiny's are a waste of money. Drink cheap beer. Else drink the bottom line - Grain alcohol with a soda chaser.

Stay away from Presidente. (Dominican beer.) The worst beer I've ever had. I've had cheap beer that tasted better.

i also like the hefeweissen beer from Augustine Bier Hause auf Munchen, Deutschland. its very good and very very fresh as in it is only sold a 100 yards from where it is made, and its made without any perservatives.

YEAH! i was in the DR this summer. that is ALL OVER THE PLACE! they got everyone and their sister's uncle advertising it, too. jesus...

i took a pic of some random dominicans selling beer out of their truck... (its usually a safe bet to say that the green ones are presidente.)

I think you will find this beer is not unique in containing no artifical preservatives, as I have never heard of any beer containing them. The spin thrown out by the German brewing industry, would suggest that they are alone in not using them, which of course is not true.

As a matter of fact, hops, which provide the bitterness in beer, are a natural preservative, and have been used through history to keep beer fresh. The carbon dixoide in beer also acts to prevent spoilage. Of course German beer contains hops, this natural preservative.
