Anyone else waiting? Mackie said "early March." Since today is the 13th, and the 15th marks halfway through March (as well as the Ides of March...beware the Ides of March), I'm hoping Mackie will stick to their word and release tomorrow.

From my own experience:
Pros:
- No mixer
- Single-screen interface (no menus or windows or whatnot, streamlines workflow a lot)
- Easy to learn (took me about 5-10 mins)
Extremely stable
- The developer is dedicated and actually listens to bug reports and whatnot.
- Cheap (80 bucks for T1)
- Rackfilters (dunno how many other sequencers have this besides Reason 3 [combinator], but it can be used as a patch saver for a chain of vsts, amongst other things)
- The Mackie-developed dynamics plugs in T2 are incredible
Cons:
- No mixer
- Lacking a good timestretch
- No foldering of tracks
- Midi editing is basic (new midi editor in T2 though)
- Takes up the whole screen, i.e. non-scalable (changed in T2)
- Automation doesn't move with clips |

If I recall, Mackie were giving away limited edition FREE versions of tracktion during christmas. I downloaded it during this time, but didn't see anything revolutionary or ground breaking about it to continue using it. For a beginner however just getting into sequenceing, I don't think there's anything else on the market that offers this much bang for your $$$. |
