Not sure how many of you have heard of him, but he's had stuff released on Marine Parade, Distinctive Breaks, Fuel, Hooj....

Anyways, apparently he uses an Atari as his primary sequencer.

what in the hell!?!?!
Freak
I still use several ataris as my sequencers (and yes i own a pc and a mac too- for sequencing they dont come close). Fully expanded with a whopping 4 meg ram and running cubase 2.0 (the original MCA cracked version.) I have notator SL (precursor to logic) and logic for it too...
Oh and these....a very hard to find midex midi expander by steinberg..i have to ship them over from germany as they are most common there. this one arrived in the post this morning, so timely thread.:

The timing is better than a PC or Mac and is rock solid,it has built in midi ports and a whole load of other advantages i cant be bothered to list. For syncing to other sources (midi time code, SMPTE etc) NOTHING syncs as fast or as accurately as atari.
You can also count the number of times it will crash in a year on one hand, possibly one finger.

The atari is responsible for a whole generation of dance music history and culture.

Fatboy slim still uses his, as do basement jaxx and a load of others.

Laugh away if you want- i couldnt give two s. If it wasnt for this stuff, you wouldnt be using the software you use today, and the electronic music scene would be a very different place.

p.s- spares not an issue, i have several ones for such a purpose. But they never go wrong!! The only problem is finding decent monitors.

this came as no surprise, i used to produce music on my Playstation 2, I did some good tunes on that thing actually... i still miss the environment still today..

I sold my atari about 6-7 years ago, still regret it, cause I should of kept it with cubase 2 as a vintage toy :), But yes I remember the days.. I use to keep the setup running fiew days straight and the computer was still fine, never had problems with the midi timing, it's something that apple and pc still don't get it right today.. They are close, but atari is Rock Solid.

Yep, at the end of the day it's not so much the features in the sequencer that make the sequencer, it's the sequencer's ability to actually get things done.

I also heard that there are some awesome midi algorithms only available for Atari....true?

Digital Blonde also used Atari, he has Apple Mac now but he made the change last year.
