| Well old school to me is anyone who was partying at the time my sis was...I lived vicariously through her experiences cause I was too young for it. Drugs also never interested me, and I knew she was into them when she went to raves. The best part about living through her was hearing all the music she'd bring home! |

I also remember AGES ago, Jelo played at this ty bar that used to be fun called Fitzy's. If you saw this place you'd never think you'd hear a DJ like Jelo play there. |
lol...I have been there... A few Halloween's ago, small place but had some fun. Went to the Queens about a month ago... I never knew it was that bad  |

Loads of people have tried to get night up and running in Barrie
but lack of long term support kills it and trouble is very few younger house heads exist in Barrie so Urban rules.
Best part of living in Barrie is taking my boat out in the summer with a bunch of friends (usually DJ's since thats the what my work life and social revolves around) smoking a big un and playing some kick ass tunes
(gonna put a new system in the boat this year that should be loud enough to hear across the lake).
And tubing when you are stoned is some freaky ass |
I am so yours in the summer guy, that sounds amazing... Any good dirt bike trails that way? |

Rob Hamilton has had the night scene sewn up there for quite some time. (He owns The Roxx and The Queens)
I'm pretty much Barrie Alumni (Barrie Central Collegiate and Georgian College) having lived there off and on 10(?) years.
Yea, as far as 'night-life' forget it; Toronto is where it's at if you're a TA.
Unless you like to watch the brawls break out between the farm boys and the city slickers that for some reason migrate up to Barrie for a cheap hoe. Well, cheaper than the Toronto-looking-down-through-their-noses-hoes.
*disclaimer - I exempt all TAs and known girls in my little world. :p
Summer is great there for boats, bbq and swimming but winter...you better like winter sports or you might as well stab yourself in the eye with toothpicks (and that's after picking the keys outta your forehead from your keyboard from passing out).
Barrie is a bedroom community; small town feel with Toronto drivers....great....
*disclaimer - I again exempt all TAs since they are all wickedly cool
I'm glad I moved.... :toothless |

He's into everything...
Barrie almost sounds like the story from the movie, "Road House"... |

The best one was a story in the local paper last week of how the city passed voted on lands near the hospital to be rezoned to commercial and then it turned out that his wife owned the land and now its going to have some high profile medical arts builing built on the land
So now some people want a hearing on a conflict of interest issue |

Yeah and doesn't his wife sit on the board for handing out liquour licences or something?? I heard she's involved with something that helps him keep the monopoly on all the bars/clubs(ha!) here. |

Who says you have to go to the third world to find corruption?
Is his name Mayor Hamilton or Mayor Quimby?
