| I saw them once without even knowing it..was bored and had snuck into the club. I hate 'lazy', but the stuff they play live is different - its very dark/minimalistic tribalish prog. Was ok. |

Haven't really checked out their pre '96 stuff yet but i think i could do that. I like some of their works but then again some are close on the edge of being so boring.. my fav original productions from the trio must be "Angel" and "Smokemachine" off the album Muzikizum. All'n'all pretty enjoyable house and prog house.
My fav remix work from them has always been Fatboy Slim - Star 69 (X-Press 2 Wine'em Dine'em & 69'em Supamix); the funky progness of it is so addictive. Also Dubstar - Stars (X-Press 2's Sonic Star Dub), Olive - You're Not Alone (X-Press 2's Vocal Voyage Mix) and Sunscreem - Sunscreem - Exodus (X-Press 2's One Drop Acid) deserve to be mentioned in my list.. even if other mixes of those tracks happen to be better.
Most of all i enjoy the group's main man, Ashley Beedle's remixes under his own name. Bent - Always (Ashley Beedle's Mahavishnu Mix) is just sooo absolutely beautiful and can't forget the 1993 classic Disco Evangelists - De Niro, which he produced with David Holmes. One of my alltime favs! |
