Im in the midst of making a new demo cd, but am having problems with cool edit and was wondering if anyone can help.
I have mixer hooked to the computer, and the computer to the amp. When I play the turntables the sound is crystal clear. BUT when I play the recording there is a lot of popping, even though it was not there when played live? What on earth is this popping and how do I get rid of it so that the demo will sound like it should, clear!
Thanks |

It's all about the inputs and outputs.
Make sure you're putting balanced inputs into balanced outputs, and vice versa.
I had a similar problem at first trying to put an amplified signal into a non-amplified input, which caused uber-problems.
Try different outputs on the mixer. There sould be at least 2 options of output (master + monitor) so try either one. |

try working with sample rates...
i recorded something in 192khz, and then tried to play it back in winamp, it had lots of pops and clicks. winamp could not play the file properly.
when you start a new recording in cool edit...make sure the sample rate is set to 44100...and bitrate to 16bit, nothing higher.
good luck |
