I'm gonna try to quit too, or, at least, slow down immensely. Didn't smoke yesterday, so I'm on day 2. It takes a lot of will power, and you have to enlist your friends to support you. |

Make it as difficult as possible for you to obtain anything to smoke. DO NOT keep any around your place of residence, and try to stay away from people who are going to be smoking as much as possible. It will be infinitely easier to overcome a craving if giving in means going to the store and buying a pack compared to having one immediately available to you. |

When i cut back it just ends up creeping back up again...
thanks all for the advice
it's the horrible feeling of holding your breath type tension that I hate about the withdrawal...
v determined this time though... even the clubbing won't stop me if I can get through those first few days |

Many different things work for different people. Some popular ideas are
drugs including all gums/patches/pills/etc
quitting with a group of people
excercise regularly
learn formal breathing techniques
Improve diet
Take up a manually demanding hobby
My other suggestion is, don't do it tomorrow; do it today. |

I'll try quitting and then something will come up that will make me keep smoking. Like a vacation, nights out with my friends who smoke as much as I do, or I buy some weed. Everyone knows you need a cig after a fat bowl.
Get over the 3 day hump and you'll be fine. The hard part for me atleast is cutting it out of my daily routine. |

smoke a cigar and inhale. you'll get so sick you'll never want to smoke again. I did that when I was in 6th grade and it worked like a charm. i've never smoked again, except for an occasional blunt |

Yeah, but I'm thinking that I can slow down, before a total collapse down there. :p |

Try some smokeless tobacco (snuff). Recent studies shows that it is no more harmfull than drinking coffee, yet it has a lot more nicotin in it than sigarettes. In Scandinavia its quite normal to use it when you want to stop smoking. Even the girls do it over here. Swedish snuff pwns american snuff. |
