600 Sikhs were killed in the Golden temple by the Indian government while celebrating a religious holiday.
first the gov't imposed a curfew. when they found out that there was a holiday they lifted the curfew for that specific day so many would gather. They then invaded with tanks and army troops on that day and butchered every one there.
after that event several thousand other sikhs were killed and raped in the streets by hindus and muslims, police officers hunted sikhs down and tortured them to death. the indian government advocated this, it was Prime minister Indira Ghandi and her cabinet themselves who gave the order for the attack on the temple. So we killed Ghandi in revenge. another cabinet member to be asassinated was going be bombed when he went for his luggage, the bomb went to the wrong plane and the air india disaster happened. |
