this is for school? i have stong feelings religion should have a minimal influence on school. (unless of course you go to religous school or something). learning about religion is one thing but the tone of your survey assumes that most people have religion in their life and i dont think this is true at all. at least not in my experience.

either PM me or email me ([email protected]) your responses if you feel uncomfortable posting it in the thread, any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Okee... why not. just a sidenote, i'm not actually religious personally (was raised in a method in which i was taught 'religion was the opiate of the people' if you catch my drift...), but i hang out at the Krishna temple to drum sometimes and catch the odd lecture, and perform for the odd function with the Russian orthodox church community.

I go to church once a year for Easter... I think the church and the words (Old Russian) are beautiful, it's a religious experience to me in that way. Russian Orthodox churches don't hold preaching masses, it's a priest reading from religious texts, I don't really think it's like other churches where the preacher delivers a sermon he wrote himself. The priest is available for advice and confession and stuff, though. I'm not christened so I can't take the host or anything, but I'd like to be. That's why I don't go to church often; if I were christened, I might go a few more times a year, though I'm not sure. I guess church right now is more like an experience of going to the theater or to a museum for me... it is an "event" to go to once a year and I enjoy it. It has little religious value and I take no lessons from what I hear. I just listen to the beautiful choir and look at the decoration. I believe in God.

i answered the first question Catholic because that is what i was baptized, but obviously i am not a religious person. i don't think i care enough to be atheist, i'm just kind of indifferent towards it...so what ever that is hehehe. but as i mentioned i do find the study of religions from a historical point of view very interesting because they have greatly shaped the world.
