I'm interested in buying a portable recording device that has excellent sound quality and battery life that I can bring with me to record DJs' gigs (I won't be filesharing ;))
What brands/models do you guys use and/or recommend I look into? |

| if you mean like when you go to sasha you want to bring a recording device with you to record his set....good luck. for one, you probably wont get it it. and if you do, you would probably need a dat machine or something which mean you need a mic as well. |

you should talk to choobak about that ;)
dat recorders are way too expensive IMO. and i've never seen one that's portable? (they're usually the size of an old school tape deck)
aren't there mp3 recorders these days?? |

| portable dat recorders do exist but they're too cumbersome for stealth recordings. the quality/clarity of mp3 digital recorders is steadily improving, but a good minidisc recorder with good mics is still the best bet. |

Whatever it is, I don't think it's the same quality this guy is looking for. |
