Made siort if a remix, mash-up, edit, whatever the hell you wanna call it. I'm not sure what to consider it. It was fun to make and I came upon it while mixing one song into the other and decided to make this combo mix.
Anyway, the last minute is a bit weird - the drums are out of sync for a few seconds (I think) - it flows and doesnt - its weird.
UPDATE: REDONE & FIXED ON MARCH 27 2005.
As promised I fixed the remix this weekend.
Gave it a little less bass from lexicon, more treble on the obsession deck, and a cleaner and different ending. Also shortened the final remix by about a minute to a wonderful 6:49, down from about 8:00+

I would have dropped the bassline at 27 sec, it just seem like the right time, but maybe you're building tension or something.
percs sound real nice!
production quality is great!
It's definently on the minimal side, which is ok
now is when all the melody is comming in
it sounds nice, it'd be good in a set, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it on my own.(short attention span lol)
only other thing, is I'd trim like a minute off somewhere, but a real solid remix you have here

ya it probably might be good in a set - i'll try adding it into a while.
haha, ya the point of remixes is to mix them - atleast thats how I always viewed remixes of trance/house songs. hehe.

| not bad mash up - yea somewhere round 1:30 left it goes a bit off but doesnt sound too bad- doesnt grab me tho either....keep it up. |

thx for the reviews - ya it needs to be tuned up a bit. I might redo it later and add a bit more in the middle - it was sort of spur of the moment random thing to do - after a few trys this is what I got heh.
Alright, keep the reviews coming if you want too. Hope someone uses this in a mix at some point heh - thatd be sweet :)

I like that hihat in the beginning, and then more pandereta-like (the other hat fading right after the open hihat) hihat, pretty cool.
Nice bassline and FX.
2:00 A new element slowly fading in, perfect volume, you know is there but is barely noticeable, pretty good, adds to the background.
Another bass sound, pretty cool, now the bassline is more solid.
Personally, I don't like the synth you used for the main melody.
Overall: Good Remix. |

Sounds like a trainwreck to me...woulda figured that would be easily avoided in the digital remix realm.. |

ya i planned to fix that next weekend when I will have more time (spring break is ending - college si starting abck up :()
So ya, it can be easily avoided. I think I;m gonna fix that an add a little more treble there from obsession and then everything will be alright.
To PDM: Thx for the comments dude - really appreciate it. Which synth ddnt u like, the one coming with the song Obsession, or the one thats standard with My Lexicon?
I had to pump up the the pitch for obsession to have t match My Lexicon - that sounded 10x better then tuning down my lexicon.
I'll see what I can do about it next weekend or maybe even thsi week when I have a tad bit more time to rework it. |
