Firstly is something i want to see just because i was really into akira... This would be Katsuhiro Ôtomo's newest film Steamboy which apparently hasnt done soo well in the japanese market.. But i'd like to decide for myself....
Quick plot from imdb
Rei is a young inventor living in the U.K. in the middle of the 19th
century. Shortly before the first ever World Expo, a marvelous invention called the "Steam Ball", behind which a menacing power is hidden, arrives at his door from his grandfather Roid in the U.S. Meanwhile the nefarious Ohara Foundation has sent men to acquire theSteam Ball so that they can use its power towards their own illicit ends. |

wow...great "must see list" You named the 5 biggest movies coming out over the next few months...
some smaller movies that look good...
saw the previews for "Crash" last night...huge huge cast...definitely looks promising.
Not sure if "Assisted Living" is out yet, but the previews look hilarious.
I'm a horror movie fan so I'm definitely going to see "House of Wax," even w/ Paris Hilton.
and the film adaption of "Dogtown and Z-Boys" looks good too...i think Heath ledger and Johnny Knoxville are both in it. Stacy Peralta wrote and directed it so how bad could it be? |

2046
by
Kar Wai Wong
Plot Summary for
He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention.....to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back- except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change.
He did a video for dj shadow awhile back.... |
