Im really looking forward to this weekend:D

Have seen u play a couple of times mr djb and looking forward to seeing what mayhem we can create on friday!!;)

Tachyon, thanks for kind words of support but his is a pretty massive line-up and we are lucky enough to have two internationals playing so not alot of free time mid night. ( maybe i'll get albert mangled enough and steal his time????) :disbelief :disbelief :disbelief mwuhahahahahaha

if a dj is really that good, you should be able to put them on at any time during the night, and they should be able to accommodate their set accordingly.

i disagree. it would be so much better to put a dj on a timeslot that suits his style. here's an example which happened last night: we went to cage to find ourselves be punished by pounding hard trance by ajax. a quick glance at the clock indicates that it is indeed just quarter past midnight and the night was just started. now everyone knows that ajax play hardstyle. we can't really blame him because he played hard, because its his signature style. i must say that putting him up so early is a bad decision. the crowd wasn't ready for such pounding sound that early in the night (except for those before-11pm-munters prolly!) however, it would be a good decision to put him later in the night when the crowd are ready for more pounding sound.

i think the set times for this event are pretty good. its hard trying to give everyone a go when you have so many dj's to think about. everyone gets a chance to prove themselves eventually.

i disagree. no other djs has ever create such a massive impact other than scott bateman. his set @ resolutions NYE is a perfect example of one. if there is only one person deserving the main time slot, it would be him. i reckon with 5am having too many DJs and rather than giving each them rotation to play without having to play a versus set, it is indeed facing a big problem with a simple solution: stop doing versus, and start letting them play alone. if scotty has been with 5am for almost a year and still be placed to play an opening set, i reckon i'd sooner mastered mixing on 3 decks, than him getting a main time slot, imo. how much more 'proof' does 5am need?

and by the way, i am pretty sure vi was referring to a trance night in general rather than this particular event. :toocool:

Agreed! Im not referring to any nights in particular but i am a big believer in seeing dj's play their prefered style and play it brilliantly then to see them try and change their style to suit a certain time, whether it be a club event or something two tribesish.

Proggier etc early and so on depending on your preference and whether or not you have an international guest.

Its like taking two artists, one who does landscapes and one who does portraits, they can probably both do the other to an extent but neither will really display their talent unless doing what they are best at.

just my 2 cents

For the sake of my court ordered good behaviour bond i'm going to ignore that  :whip:

i dont really believe scott bateman should be proving himself at all to handle a main time slot.. most of the time its 70% the time and 30% the dj.. since the house is so packed out during "peak time".. the dj meerly has to play some decent tunes enough for the people to start dancing around and make a bit of a ruckus.. if people come to a place to party, they do so regardless... so i'd be for it putting anyone in the main slot - anyone... but i dont actually run a night; in fact i probably couldnt even run an ant farm.. so rather than listen to what i have to say you can all eat my ass and lick my balls.

I'll take the ass now and put the balls on hold!

I love your disclaimers Dave - never dissapoint! You get your point made, then leave the back door wide open - it's a fine art :D

Good to see tachyon and djb coming to a fair agreement- much more in the spirit of things lads. :D

What can I say? I'm Pumped!!
