"Bridge" tunes

As I was sorting through my vinyls, I notice I have a lot of great opening/early set prog house tunes and several peak hour ones, but nothing to transition between them. What recommendations do you guys have for prog tunes to "bridge" tunes like Evolution - Walking On Fire (Evolution Mix) to tunes like Gift - Duration (Thomas Penton Mix) or 16B feat. Morel - Escape (Drive To Heaven) (Omid Full Vocal Mix)?

why do you need filler? (omg i just said that out loud n sounded sooooooooo gay) the old days were just pounding bass for hours, and maybe two breakdowns. bring it up, keep it up. no filler.

Well, I prefer to call it buildup. I obviously can't go from a tune that's pretty soft to one that is very banging. I need something to fill the spot between, but something that'll build up the vibe.

a good technique to use is to go from a chilled out remix of a tune, into a harder remix of the tune. very nice effect if you can carry over a common element.

Haven't seen that done. Clever - good idea.

good example of that is james holden's balance disc 1.

nathan fake - outhouse (fluffy mix) --->
nathan fake - outhouse (original)

the build up is great when the bass finally kicks in

similar things have been done with Intro mixes, like Ridgwalkers - Find where Markus Schulz created an intro for a few mins then brought the Andy Moor mix in.
