University Graduation

So, after four and a half years, I am graduating from my state's University, with a Bachelor of Arts in English/Media Studies. Coemmncement is in about an hour and a half, and I'm getting ready to leave. I really am not too fond of going to commencement, but my mother wants me to go through the ceremony, so I've got the robe, I've been to practice, and I'm going to participate.
So this thread goes out to all of the Winter graduates. Congratulations on your recent scholastic achievments and good look with your near future plans. |

Congrats man!
Get ready to find out that your degree means nothing, that you cant get a job, and that technically you wasted last 4 and 1/2 yrs.
I'm only second year in college, but it seems to me that everyone comes to this conclusion once they graduate. |

Thats one way of looking at it, and i can relate as my major was psych and i currently have a job that has absolutely nothing to do with the field. However, I look at my experience differently, the friends that I met and the experiences that I had in college will last me a lifetime, I will always be able to look back on those years as some of the best years of my life. Not to be cliched but it truely is a glass half empty/glass half full scenario.... |

| I was fortunate enough to avoid attenting my commencement ceremony. Anyone who isn't bored to tears by those ceremonies must be easily entertained indeed. Nevertheless, congratulations on your accomplishments. |
