I'm having a computer problem, and I figured since you all are dorks(no really i'm kidding), maybe some nice TA's could help....This is a brand new computer, just powered it on for the first time the other day...here are my problems:

By the way i'm running ABIT NF7-S rev. 2.0 and athlon XP-M 2600+

1) Whenever I start up my PC, it doesn't read my processor--AMD Athlon XP-Mobile 2600+. It reads Unknown Processor 600 mHz. Sometimes it reads 800 mHz. Directly after resetting CMOS, it tells me the pocessor is unworkable or changed, check soft menu. In BIOS it says the same. I have tried resetting the CMOS jumper, and reseating the battery.

2) It will not recognize my SATA harddrive. BIOS doesn't detect it, and windows installation does not detect it. The seagate installation start up cd does, however. Would a BIOS flash fix this?

3) I cannot flash my BIOS. For some reason, I cannot get my computer to boot from my floppy drive. I've tried a winxp, and ME start up disk. I have even tried entering the Harddrive utility, and exiting to get a dos prompt, and it will not let me access my FDD, which I figured it wouldn't. BIOS does seem, however, to detect my Floppy Drive. Also tried to make a boot cd to flash bios, but that wouldn't boot either. I have also tried changing out my FDD cable, but still it will not boot. Also tried hitting alt+F3 to enter AWDFlash, but then it says insert disk with AWDFlash.exe and press enter repeatedly.

Any help or suggestion is as always greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Edit: I am almost positive that my floppy problems are from incorrect installation. After doing some research today at work I think I have realized that the cable is backwards on the drive or motherboard. Also I think my SATA drive will work fine once I get the floppy drive working. However, I am still wondering about my processor, if anyone wants to help with that.

Which part?

EDIT: Okay, apparently, ABIT doesn't recognize the XP Mobile chips and you have to set the frequency yourself...so I think everything is just fine.
