Tilt gear? & recommended height?

Hey.
My current setup is 2 Pioneer CDJ1000Mk2s and a Numark DXM06 mixer.
I have them on a table and recently my back has started to hurt a bit after playing a couple of hours.. So now I want to build something to raise my gear up a bit.. What is the ideal height (in compare with how tall you are) for the CDplayers and mixer? And is it a good idea to have the gear tilted?
Im thankful for any answers and advices :)

i get teh same thing, but I am kinda tall so I expect it. I like teh top of decks to be pretty close to the bottom of my ribs, but that is way too tall for most people.

better to have it too high than too low.

my table is 33" off the ground, so add the techs height on top of that.

Not had any back pain myself, and i measured every booth i use to work out a decent height.

Well.. how tall are u? That's kind of relevant :p
Im 186cm.. my table is now 82cm/32inches high..

im a shade under 6 foot tall

but i dont wear shoes in the house, so maybe that affects it

the height of a kitchen cabinet with countertop is a good judge i think. start there and adjust it according to your height.

i bought a cheap base cabinet at ikea, made the console, and painted it all the same color. the height is perfect.

oh man! get a higher table! i'm as tall as you and my table is 101cm (i think) and it's just about the right height for me, could be a little bit higer maybe, but not much though. it's a shelf though, so not exactly a table, but i use it as one anyway! i bought it from ikea some time ago but the ******s have discontinued it now it seems. it's pretty much optimal for my current setup (2xCDJ-110s and a DJM-300s), but if i get a wider mixer in the future and wider CDJs then i might run out of space on it, which is too bad. it was cheap too and i bet they have something similar to offer now, so i think you should have a look there.
anyway get a new table and ASAP. your back is gonna die soon if you're gonna spin on a table that low!

edit:
dunno about tilting them, but it seems that in most clubs at least the CDJs are tilted, because they work fine when tilted and all the tablespace is taken by the mixer and the TTs

I know that my back will kill me.. it has already started :p
110cm or so might be better I think!

About the tilting.. just wondered if it's any good that way.. Or if it's just used because of lack of space? :)

Make it so that the decks are on approx. the same height as your elbows are. Just play around with that height.
Experiment until it's comfortable enough. I'm 1.83m myself and my decks are on a height of 92cm, just a tad under my elbows. This way I don't have to bend my back too often and don't have any back problems.
Seeing as you are 1.86m take set your decks at about 96cm to 1m.
Hope it helps.
