Audiophile 2496 vs Audigy 2 ZS: any audio quality difference?! Read on..

Hi,
Aside from the Audiophile 2496 perhaps having a better driver (is that the case?), I was wondering when speaking purely about audio quality, will I really hear that much of an audio quality improvement when going from Audigy 2 ZS to Audiophile 2496?
I know everybody likes to criticize the Audigy cards, but can you explain how exactly the audio quality of the Audiophile 2496 is better then that of the Audigy 2 ZS, which actually has a very good audio quality according to many pro audio reviews. Will I hear more or something with Audiophile 2496, what else.. please explain what makes the Audiophile 2496 so much better then the Audigy 2 ZS..

| I dont have the exact same setup but its similiar. My old sound card was a sound blaster audigy 2 platinum. I just recently purchased the audiophile 192 card. As soon as I installed it, you could hear how much more clear the sound was and that is no lie. I only have the alesis mkII monitors which arent the greatest but you could tell big time. I love the new card. The old sound blaster card did work decent though but it was just time to upgrade. |
