Hey guys...it happened last Saturday (March 19th)...John DeLorean, the man behind that AWESOME gull-winged door car, passed away at the age of 80 in hospital at Summit, NJ from complications as a result of a stroke he suffered previously. Let's keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

| The car sucked, he was a rumoured coke fiend, and he didn't even live to be 88. |

Fair nuff. But honestly what does this guy have to do with the Toronto Scene ? I mean, sure the car was popular because of the movie but don't you think this thread belongs in another forum ? Not to make a big deal , but if you post it here don't be surprised if people aren't as senstive that a 80 year old car designer passed away. It happens -- and after 80 years, i'd like to think he's in a better place designing cars that look a hellva lot better then that monstrosity.
sorry, but i have to agree with VERTiG0 -- winged doors or not, that car is just ug-ly ! |

I'm perfectly relaxed. It just seemed odd that you felt the need to share intimate details regarding the man's coke habit in a thread that announced his passing. Some might call it crass -- but hey, you're right -- it's just the internet. |
