I have a PHILIPS DVD+-RW drive (DVD8631) and it's locked to region 2 (which i am in and suits me) BUT i would prefer it if the drive was region free. I've heard 'flashing' the drive is the way to overcome this. I understand my warranty will void if this happens, but i think im willing to risk it.
1) how do i go about it (links? tips? walkthrough? etc)
2) are there any other important factors i should know?
cheers for any help & advice!

honestly its what computer call a peice of crap burner. basically it's the type of stuff that comes with dell. There is no flash that's going to make it region free....but, there always a but. Use a software based player to read DVD that are region free. I use PowerDVD.
basically nobody going to mess around custom flashing a phillips burner. |
