Oddly Enough - Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) - Can't get out of bed in the morning?

Scientists at MIT's Media Lab in the United States have invented an alarm clock called Clocky to make even the doziest sleepers, who repeatedly hit the snooze button, leap out of bed.

After the snooze button is pressed, the clock, which is equipped with a set of wheels, rolls off the table to another part of the room.

"When the alarm sounds again, simply finding Clocky ought to be strenuous enough to prevent even the doziest owner from going back to sleep," New Scientist magazine said Tuesday.

I invented an alarm clock that was connected to a chicken wire-like mesh and a series of low voltage batteries..

The mesh was laid under the bed sheet - but on top of the mattress.

When the alarm went off, it connected a circuit that would put a small but uncomfortable current through the mesh, ensuring that the sleeping individual was woken.

My invention is called Zappy.

There is a variation of my invention for people who snore called "Snorey" and another variation for people who wet the bed called "Pissey".

If I woke up to find my clock moving on its own, it'd make me jump. It's a great idea!

I have to do that...otherwise I will oversleep for sure. I kept waking up with the alarm clock off, even though I know for a fact that I set it last night (mine doesn't have snooze, just on/off).
So now, I have to put it further away, when it rings, I get up, shut it off (it wakes me up just enough so I don't fall asleep, but can't get out of bed yet).

lol..that's pretty cute actually!! some 10 y/o girl on ellen made up an invention where when your alarm goes off and you don't get out of bed within 10 seconds, your bed bottoms out on you and you're dropped to the floor :haha:

I'm BRUTAL with the snooze button....

My alarm clock is on the other side of the room but I STILL get up, hit snooze, then back to my warm bed :whip: :whip:

I saw a japanese invention on daily planet where the alarm clock is connected to an air bag under the sheets.
the alarm goes off and the air bag slowly inflates until you (and heres where my memory gets foggy) fall out of bed, or are in an uncomfortbale position.

pics or stfu! lol

unfortunatly i have no such problem. i usually wake up 1min-1hr before my alarm anways. So when it does go off, im already up. My internal clock just seems to set itself.

I'm really bad when it comes to waking up in the morning, I normally set my alarm clock for 10 and when it goes off I automatically hit the snooze button, it's become really bad that now I have to use my cell alarm to wake me up and it's the only one that does cuz when it goes off it plays this annoying chinese song called "Ne Ho Ma" and the longer it goes off the louder it gets, that's the only one that's worked for me
