So last week i was flying in the US for the first time since sept 11th, and the security was of course much better now, anyhow what struck me was that, along many things, such as guns, explosives, nailcutters, now are also Jokes are prohobited in security!!!

Big sign with "Jokes Prohobited"... guess most american ppl here have already seen it but still thought i should share it... cause I found that pretty hillarious... :stongue:

so are jokes really a threat to national security or not? :p

yes, joking about bombs and explosives in an airport s no laughing matter. how do they know you're joking or are serious. they dont. havnt u watched the end of Meet The Parents?

Jokes prior to 9/11 were never allowed. It kind of goes along with making jokes to a cop about what's his favorite donut.

Remind me to keep my 'Paddy and Murphuy' jokes to me self when I go to America!! :eyes:

You've never been able to say/joke that you have a bomb in an airport or on a plane (in the UK at least) to do so is an arrestable offence no question asked! However, it is funny if they have a sign saying no jokes!

anyway, ya i get why they have the rule too, its kinda common sense tho that you dont joke about bombs when going trough security... and when they put it on a sign its just plain funny!
