I think it's the anticipation for tonight that makes it that much worse today. |
why can't you stream music?!?!? or just bring your own tunes - that's the only thing getting me through right now.. |

hey bobby.. i hear ya - for your kind of job i'd want to be bored ;)
d00d i'm not gonna make it to decadence.. i'm still kinda looped from TROUBLE last weekend.. and i'd be stuck in the main room :mad: to see Cox.. |

hey Beh.. there's a lot to do here too - unfortunately due to the relationship the company has with it's SI - i don't get to assist with the programming workload.. so basically i just track the problems they have and try to get solutions/clear any roadblocks..
early this week i was running around like roadrunner putting out fires and after our deployment last weekend... now things have calmed down so i'm just sitting here at my desk posting on TA.. |

Cuz information security department is full of very paranoid people. All streaming protocols are disabled, as all traffic is monitored, at least to the types of active traffic. No external e-mail, no streaming, and pretty much anything interesting, except TA, is blocked.
I do bring my own music, but I woke up at 5 this morning to be here early, and I forgot to bring anything. All I have here is some oooooold school dance, and I've already listened through it all hundreds of times. :o |

yea, but you can setup your player to stream through HTTP - which they must have available if you can surf.
open IE
tools -> internet options
connections tab -> LAN settings
- if it's a script ("use automatic configuration script") then really need to download the script and look at the code
- if you have a proxy listed under "proxy server" copy down the info
www.proxyname.com and port #
WMP
tools -> internet options
network tab
uncheck from every protocol (Multicast, UDP, TCP) EXCEPT for HTTP
uncheck use ports "" to receive data
configure -> select "use the following proxy server" and add the address/port
RealPlayer (basic v.8) new versions are similar in setup
view -> preferences
proxy tab
uncheck both PNA and RTSP proxy
select "manually configure HTTP proxy" and add the address/port
i've got both streaming fine behind our very tight-ass proxy :D |
