Some class him as cheese, especially after "Satisfaction", but like Eric Prydz and "Call On Me", he's not about one song, hes much more than that :D. Combined with his cousin Alle Benassi, his latest album Phobia:
Listen to the tracks here
Loving "Make Me Feel" which is the album opener. The vocals provided by Dhany whos a veteran in the House scene and featured heavily in Benassis last album Pumphonia. Nearly all the vocals on every track are distorted to add to the songs effect with Bennys trademark supersaw synths with flange/wah-wah distortion :D
The CD moves onto another strong track "Light" which is the only track over 7 mins long, Benny adds some nice snappy drum effects leading to an extra-long breakdown but never really built-up to what i hoped, lacking some bass. Moving onto "Rocket In The Sky", Naan provides the vocals, someone new to my ears and she does a lovely job :D, not as much bass as i'd like in this one, awesome melody, but there was just something lacking, it felt too light.
Dhany also features on the next track "Every Single Day". Again some sweet snappy drum effects with a melody that makes me sad for some reason :wtf:, i think its a sad song!. Moving swiftly past "Castaway" as it follows in the style of the songs mentioned :haha:.
"Feel Alive" is totally different from the previous tracks. A superb guitar melody from Eric Claptons "Layla" is looped, with vocals again done by Naan. No trademark see-saw flange-type synths or distorted vocals, just the guitar looping :D. "Ride To Be My Girl" sounds too dark and dirty for my interest :wtf: with some nasty male vocals to add. "Blackbird" doesnt get much better, again Paul French provides the vocals, having worked with Benassi on his last album. Again moving away from the style of the initial tracks, this has an 80's feel to it, with some synths similar to a Rock melody.
"Somebody To Touch Me" again sung by Sandy (featuring on 4 tracks here) i just dont think this gets going at all, it doesnt have a melody to back to vocals, and seems to rely on them to carry the song. The pace slows down towards the end of the album with "Movin' Up" again sung by Sandy this time with Benassis popular synth effects but with some added breaks style drum kicks. Ending in "Run To Me" sung by Dhany, with some truely awful lyrics :haha: Run To Me just sounds odd and spoils what otherwise is a decent melody!
my rating 7.5/10 :) |

I always liked "Satisfaction" [yeah sue me] but this album, and all their other work, is so weak.
Decent attempt at reviewing this. |

lol compared to the OMFG I DIE!!!111 ones? i actually tried to spend time and write something which is rare in this section, and after 89 views and 2-3 days, nobody replies :haha: (learned my lesson there).
Theirs only a couple of weak tracks on it, but the initial tracks are enough to drag the vote up in my opinion. |

He's got more style + being more of an artist than those guys at Armada will ever be, that's for sure.
Still some extra cheese missing, however. |
