Top DJ Polls Good sides?

Everyone's been hating on any so called top DJ polls,
and saying it's bad this & that, but I wondered what if
any are the good sides of it?
Ok let's first see what it actually is:
-normally people vote for their favorite DJ
so the DJ that gets most votes would be either most 'favorite',
most 'popular' or most 'listened to'.
Makes sense, but doesn't really sound good, so people that
run some of the polls twisted it to 'Best DJ'.

Of course it's almost impossible to determine which DJ
is actually best, and if such attempt was made, there would
have to be taken more into consideration that simple vote numbers,
so this makes the winner something that they aren't.
I mean imagine if Tiesto for example was proclaimed:
Most Popular DJ vs. Best DJ
sounds bad right? Right. And since the result is untrue people hate it.

Now for any DJ I'm sure they appreciate to have the more listeners
the better, so it surely could be understandable that they want the
position even if it's misnamed.
It brings attention from many sides and money of course.
And possibly new people interested into EDM which is small
compared to pop, rock etc.. Maybe new talents.

Your thoughts?
