I don't do the scene no more cause my wife won't go; not because I'm too old. I've been through so much sh*t in my life, I'm like basically afraid of nothing, punks included, and would otherwise go...

it really depends.
in the early days of "raves" when little was known about the structure of the underground bunkers being used, the organisers used any old e to support the roof. bits of sticks. even dead alligators. at the time they did not have the experience to know any better, but looking back, clearly there was not enough support, and the underground raves often had the roof collapsing on them.
nowadays, with a bit more experience and know-how, promotors are using decent steel girders, and even large left-over sheds to support the roof.
as a result, todays underground raves have very little chance of collapsing onto the clubber, and are relatively save places.

hhmm, I would really faulter to say hip hop clubs are raves also, they are electronic music made for dancing but it is not a rave at all.
clubs have a very seperate feel to them, there is less emphasis on the actual music, and the age range is a bit higher. also there is usually no more than 3 djs, but usually only 2, and opener, and a headliner.
raves cater to a younger crowd although its not all young people, and the emphasis is on the music. usually they will feature many djs getting an hour slot and then maybe a big dj getting 2 hours. |
