I really would like to know how to do the following in FL5, so any help would be most appreciated:
1. How to draw pitch as an event so u can make a synth note rise.
2. Controlling pitch/cutoff/Rez etc.. on VSTis within fruity.
Thanks

I haven't worked in Fruity for a very long time, but I remember that every synth window has an option for drawing envelopes...it's very easy, mang. Try right clicking the pitch wheel in the program or the cut-off or other parameter...I think it'll give you the option to either record it as automation or draw an envelope yourself. Look around... |

1) To make a synth note "rise" as you say in FL, you use slides. There's a tutorial for this saved in the projects folder. Basically, you click the little triangle icon at the top left in the piano roll, and draw the note where you want the slide to end up. The note without the triangle mark is the starting note that "slides" to the slide note. Use the different colors for multiple slides at once.
2) You mean automate them? Well, go to the pattern you want to record auto on (recording auto in the playlist messes things up for me), hit pattern (as opposed to song), and hit the record button, which is next to play and stop. Then, hit play (it's good to toggle the "3 2 1 countdown" button at the top) and use the mouse or an external controller to make your changes (cutoff rise, etc.) |

For Question 2:
Step 1: Open up your VST (this will make the wrapper pop up)
Step 2: Click on the plug sign at the top left hand corner.
Step 3: Click "Browse parameters"
Step 4: Right-click on the specific thing you want to tweak on the browser list
Step 5: Click on "Edit Events"...
The list will probably be huge, so you have to know what you're tweaking beforehand. (Delay 2 feedback, etc).
Hope this helps, mate |

An easy way to find the exact control in the long list is to actually click it in the VST interface. This will save u LOADS of time browsing through hundreds of parameters. |
