I check the net and all the information on him relates to the movie or his "Official Website". I seriously think it's a mocumentary like that one about the Bill Gates asassination. The documenter 'Eric Banning' is false and those books can't be found. At least not by me so if I'm wrong please correct me? Also all the photos of him are of the actor Paul Kaye who plays him in the film. I'm pretty sure the film is based on a real DJ though. But alot of people are saying he's real.

Eric Farrel Banning was borning in Brighton, England, in 1963, the second son of Earl Ray and Peggy Mae Banning. His mother was an American who had been living in England for twenty years. His father was English. They moved to Ashfield in Torquay, Devonshire the year after his birth. When Eric was 11, his father died. Before his death, he had begun teaching him narrative writing. Eric never went to school. His mother believed education destroyed the brain and ruined the eyes. The house was filled with books and Eric was encouraged to read. As a teenager, Eric read the Sherlock Holmes books and was heavily influenced by the novelist Eden Phillpotts.

Eric published a short article in the local paper in his teens and soon began reporting on his local neighborhood, focusing mostly on character profiles of politicans and high society. Despite his mother's objections, Eric applied for college in the United States. He received his acceptance from Stanford University on the day of his mother's death.

Eric majored in Philosophy and Chemistry but never stopped writing. He contributed to the Stanford Daily and the humour magazine the Chaparral. He completed his degree at Stanford and completed a graduate degree in English at Yale. He returned to England and began writing about local celebrities. A schoolmate from Stanford, who often DJed at the Coffee House, asked Eric to send him tape recordings of a young DJ that often played small clubs in London.

The DJ was Frankie Wilde. Jack Stoddart, CEO of Motor City Records, described Frankie Wilde as a DJ who "believed music was to be watched and felt and not just heard."

Eric and Frankie struck a honest friendship that allowed Eric to follow and record Frankie Wilde's journey from local DJ to superstar DJ.

Eric has published numerous books about Frankie Wilde:
• The Wilde One
• In the Wilde
• Frankie Wilde: Authorized Ibiza
• Frankie Wilde: Unauthorized (Unpublished)

Eric is currently writing a children's novel about talking Legos. Eric also contributes to the Frankie Wilde fanbase with occasional columns in DJ FRANKIE WILDE.

Eric lives with his wife, Melissa, and their three dogs George, Whisky, and Maxwell. He would like to thank his editor Drubman for his help the past ten years.

Rise Again?
YuVaL
I really dont know, i read the website, all sounds like a bunch of bullcrap to me.

You can see the video he made for the so called "Rise Again" single, its a lot of crap lol, i seriously laughed my ass off, sounds like some kind of DJ Sammy with a woman vocalist singing rise again bla bla.

I doubt this is real... i even checked discogs, it said the single is signed to a record label called Deviant Records, and they had some sort of link there to the site, which is of course NOT working.

Futhermore, in his website it says the single is signed to Motor City Records, i tried visiting their website (you can google it), and all it brings up is some kind of AOL site. i dont see how this could be real. And if it isn't, shame on tiesto for being such a prick.

I don't think so brother. I reckon it's pretty cool if it's real if it isn't I mean check out the impact this film is already making it's almost like 'The Blair Witch Project' it's kinda slammin'!

I have no doubt that this movie can go big, just hopefully it can be true and not some phony commercial movie crap, cause those are the worst kind!!, by hearing the sample of the so called tune he made "rise again".. i really hope the movie would be based on more underground music and actual true facts and not made up stuff.

Yea same here.

But regardless I'm gonna go see it, just 'cause its a movie about DJs/EDM so I figure I should support it in some way. But yea it would definitely make a much better story if it were based on true events.

Is that "Hey DJ" movie based on true events too?

And when does this movie come out?
Nick Mimas
It says in the trailer that it's based on true events and so far I've seen alot of evidence that agress with that man. I don't think 'Hey DJ' is based on true events. It's more of a cheesy, eye candy movie like '2 Fast 2 Furious'.
