A friend of mine was going to have a birthday party, and I was invited. ME being broke, said,"OH CRAP. I need to do something for her" so. I took 8 hours and composed this bit, using Fruity Loops Studio 4.0 and the FM-7. I even programmed the pad that you hear, on the FM-7 a well as the "Bee-doo" part. But. So tell me what you guys think.

Check it out, and tell me what you think. I used Electromancer because, in all honesty,I dont know how to post songs on TranceAddict. I tried, but it failed, I guess because it isnt showing up. |

| Nah. Only about a year...Maybe a little less then that. Im only 15, so...I also have alot of time to learn lots of stuff. <3 Pretty basic. <3 Right now, Im looking for someone to sign me as an artist, and not rip me the -hell- off. I need some money for equipment. >_< |

| The way I see it is that you need to gain more experience in producing and synth programming! Not to be horrible but that sample in my opinion isn't up to a 'releaseable' standard... far from it! You can't simply get signed - it takes alot of work! |

Well... where should i begin :) Let's begin saying that producing trance (also other genres in EDM, Electronic Dance Music) needs a lot of experience of listening to trance-music, and also experience in a more technical aspect of sequencers and so on.
Since we are at the same age, I would like to tell you the hard way (I know how it is ;) )...
At the beginning you won't get a lot of respect, so just do one thing: belive. If you trust yourself to accomplish a great track, you will, in a matter of time. Time's experience. Getting signed shouldn't be your first goal... it takes ages of experience and working. So... just drop your dreams about getting signed for some hours mate, and concentrate on getting your musical experince boosted and a bit more complex perhaps.
Now... let's move on a bit, shall we? :)
Let's say that I could say that you've used FL before even saw you wrote that, since you've been using these vocal-samples included in the software, and also presetted samples other then vocals. This isn't recommended, not at all ;) Just remove them, otherwise I can't progress working with you :tongue2 Get some nice producer-friends and see if you can get any trance-samples out there, to let you begin using more quality sounds. Only that little step will take your music miles away from where it's today :)
I guess I should stop writing now though, time for you to ask.
Good luck in future producing, we will await you.
Kind regards

well I like this beat - needs quite a bit of work - for 15 this si pretty good - I couldnt make this at 15 - hell im still stuck at making my new age lol since I was 14 or 15 and im almost 19! lol
The Bass & Kick need to be tuned down a lot and the melody-synth could be redone a bit - the end of the repeating synth of the melody needs to be redone quite a bit - it goes on for too long (in y opinion)
keep it up - if you do edit parts of the song I'd love to listen to it.
EDIT: im gonan keep what u ahve so far - its been on repeat 3 or 4 times now - so its a keeper.
check out my mash-up if u have time (link under sig) |

Mmm. The only way for me to improve anything is by either A) Improving the overall quality (meaning learning the fundamentals of [melodic] rythm, how to construct a melody, and how to make complex harmonies) or B) get proffessional gear...And, well..because I dont have any money for Proffessional gear, it looks like I'll have to take the other path. As for presets, whats wrong with using presets? A musician is only as good or as bad as he/she makes him or herself. If they want to succeed, in time, they will acquire the skills needed to make a good song. Sound, although plays a good role, is not the main issue here. Your kidding yourself, if you honestly believe that sound(or the quality of sound, to say the least) is the most important thing. Look at the artist Plastikman. Originally, he put out some -amazing- things...but, later on, he just put out -crap- CD's and people bought them for who he was. Is there -any- melodic structure at all? No. His new stuff, absolutely sucks.
Another thing, I never said that being produced was going to be easy. I said that what I make, is easy enough as it is.
But, anyhow. Thank you for your honest opinions. I've needed some new voices to listen to, because...in all honesty, I've had the notion that people havent been giving me their honest opinions on my music. |

Does music have to be melodic, really? In my eyes and ears I belive the quality plays a great role in EDM-producing, in no matter how much you twist it. Let's say you write a good melody, and plays it with a bad fricking synth with a bad fricking setup and arrangement, will the sound be performed good after all? Wouldn't think so, actually.
Producing includes a part where you need to learn how to program a synth, and automate it etc. If you always use presets without any personal sound, I wouldn't say your a producer. Then your just a person who can (?) use a sequencer and make some synthlines, and handle building an okey structure, nothing very much more.
So... I would recommend starting understand your software before you use it... and since you don't really know it, you can't really produce that music you want to. I don't want to be to hard on you, but that's just the way. |

To me...that seems very true.I been producing for about a year now and im the same age as you Deprezzhun. After a while..you'll begin to get better.I've made some presets for vanguard and im proud of it..and im learning sound synthesis as well.LOL **B) get proffessional gear** just because u have a new Access Virus..or a JP..doesnt mean crap. You gotta learn how to use it first of all and to actualy get the best out of that equipment.Just practice your ass off :D. |
