I didn't even get searched at all... they just took my ticket and let me in. So I got to bring in my camera and take a few pictures/videos (not many at all).

Here's a short quicktime video during PvD's set that I took
http://www.digitalcosmography.com/p...Ultra7_PvD1.MOV

This was my first WMC/Ultra experience and I must say it was a total blast... It made me really want to move the hell out of NC and back into Miami/a big city again (use to live there as a kid).

I got to Ultra in the afternoon, and I enjoyed pretty much all the sets I heard except Junkie XL's. I was also so damn tired by this point (had been in Space the night before) that I just chilled in that first row on the left for most of the event itself and enjoyed the loud music coming from the massive speakers set up.

In the end, the experience only further confirmed my belief/opinion that Ferry Corsten needs to be MUCH higher than #7. <3 Ferry.

PVD's set had me dancing non-stop! No matter how tired I was feeling, he played awesome pumping tunes! He is DA MAN indeed.

UM hell yes PvD KILLED! OMFG best EVER!!!!!! PvD dropped it like WHOA!
First of all I got there super late omg and the line was HORRIBLE...I was so pissed!! After a while they stopped searching people and just checking tickets and letting people in because it was so crowded and I got to bring in my digi cam! I thought Ultra had waaaaaaaaay too many people this year because last year I got there a bit earlier than this year and I litterally ran through that line. Anyway I got there so FCUKING late I missed Armin's set :whip:  but then I heard from Ambs it wasn't that good because he played a lot of mellow tracks! I am still EXTREMELY pissed about not getting to see him AND I'm never going with the people I went this year...fcuking BS!! Other than that I stayed at the main stage because of fear of losing my seat, I was way in the front to the left side!! I had an awesome view this year of the DJ's! So my review is that PvD was the SHIIIIIIIIT!!! I really disliked Tiësto's set...WAY too mellow and had me sitting down for almost the entire 2 hours! I did like a couple of tracks he threw down other than that too boring! I HATED OakenJOKE's set...OMFG he lived up to his name because it was such a joke...he trainWRECKED EVERY mix!! Horrible transitions and just BOOOO with ONE exception and that was when he played SAM SHARP-DEEP!!! Junkie XL started off slow but then picked it up and it was great!
NOW as far as what Buster called him the "godfather" PvD well, hands down, BEST set and he IS the godfather bitches, the German engineer!!!! SMOOTH ass transitions...I honestly could not hear when he was mixing the next track because it was so flawless!!! I was so hyped for his set and I was dancing soooo much even if I wanted to sit I just couldn't!!! He played mostly new stuff with the exception of some tracks but talk about going tech-trance which is the ! Oh man every time I see DA MAN it reminds me why I love him so much as a DJ! Never a disappointment to me IMO! Should have gotten a longer set though, the only reason I dislike Ultra...times are too short! But even if his time was so short the man improvised and took it all building up his set, it was already hyped from the beginning! He always just takes the crowd because he blows that energy! Funny thing too because last year I liked Tiësto's set a little more than PvD's. Never a dull moment when this man takes the decks!! Nothing but PVinD I had a great time, pics later!

:D :D :D

EDIT* where was Edgar V? I thought he was supposed to play main around 7ish? I didn't even see his name on the flyer? :whip:

^Last year I went with some people who were lamers, and that's part of why i didn't have fun. This year was a welcome change, with ONE exception. Ben got some BS phone call from someone who kept him on the phone for a good 30 minutes or so before we finally went to the Palmetto Metro Rail station. I think I would have gotten in to hear Ferry play his version of FOG if that hadn't happened. :whip:

I personally think Oakie did a better job this time around than last year. :o

Tiësto was good, but not better than Space Thursday, IMO.

And PVD...well, you know he always owns the place as he closes down the Main Stage. :D DA MAN.

*EDIT* The only real problem I had was that moron MC, whether it was Buster or someone else (I couldn't see). Whoever that was needs to shut their in' mouth already. We're here to listen to MUSIC, not to your ghey ass prancin' around like some wannabe celebrity bigshot. Dumb .

*EDIT EDIT* Heh. I actually did yell "SHUT THE UP" a few times. He just aggravated the piss out of me.

Ok i definatly had to post a review on my first ultra experience. It was just awesooome. So many ppl all that music was crazy. Nothing compared to other events!!! This is one of the things that you look bad and wish to be there again. Gotta wait a year until then hehe But i definatly regret not having gone the last years. :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:
First of all cool seeing all you ppl there arturo, breakinbeats, harold, luis, amber, flip n other TAs. We got there at around 2pm all hyped up. it was crazy all those ppl on the highway going to ultra. First NU NRG was a blast. The perfect startout!! Then we hit up infected mushrooms and actually first time me hearing that group...Then even though alot of ppl didnt like Armin sets lot but it rockeeeeed... lol WHAT happend to that girl i was dancing with... :whip:
We all had such a blast that the time passed by waaay too fast. Memories are too short lol Well then we went check out Paul Oakenfold n then this one german DJ playin some hard stuff... Tony something...forgot his name.
By the time tiesto was on the mainstage was paaaacked. It took me an hour to get from the front to the all the way up and back. So i missed half of tiestos set   At PVD there was no way to the front ...But awesome... Sunset and full Moon on Ultra!!!
PVD was the blast for me... :clown:

Now the afterparty.... what was up with that... we took freakin 3 hours from ultra to be on the floor in the airline arena. that was something that pissed me off majorly that night. But anyways Sasha & Digweed were awesome...alot of tracks from fabric and that killers remix that was great... i think we ended up leaving at round 5... not sure when the party ended....and well overall dancing for 12 hours was a hell of an event...woke up with a sore body the next day lol but definatly thats something u'll never forget...until the next ultra
hope everybody had a blast that night...:toothless: and thx to the ppl for the awesome pics!!

I remember when you used to go to Ultra to hear some fresh new tunes. Not anymore I guess. What was up with all the top tunes of 2 years ago being played almost everywhere? I know good tunes are good tunes, but damn, for a festival like this, you gotta bring out your A game and bust of some sick ass new tunes.

yup, junkie's set was so similar to his from last year, though i loved hearing "fight for your right" again.

you know who did play sick new - Sander in K!! i heard most of them on the terrace the night before but they were still fresh. here's a partial tracklist for his set (not gonna try on the space set, way too long):
Rachel Starr - Til There Was You (G&D mix)
The Killers - Mr Brightside (don't know the mix)
ID - absolutely sick breakbeat track that says "revolution 909" (must get!)
Sander K - The Fruit (what mix is he playing now?)
ID - sick track with the "domo origato mr roboto" vocal from that styx song (must get!)
Brainbug - Nightmare
Ace of Base - Cruel Summer (Mannel 4am remix)
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up (don't know the mix)

aside from that, Ferry was the best trance set i heard, completely solid and owned the ampitheater
Infusion was the best live performance, good rockin tunes
Tiesto was so dull and monotanous that i left, checked out Carl Cox for a few and it was pretty banging, then over to see Santana who was great for the short 30 mins they gave him.
Went back to the amp for a little PVD who was good but I had seen him at Space the night before and wanted to see some DJs I hadn't seen, so I went to check out BT. I like BT's old stuff a lot more, but some decent breaks nonetheless.
As we are going to leave I recognize the tune coming from the sound stage: its Crystal Method playing the remix of Smashing Pumpkins - 1979! awesome way to end the party.
