what kinda needles do you think I should get?
I want ones that:
- won't chew up my records
- are easy to pick up
- won't wear out too fast
- good sound quality, but not the best
- not too expensive

I've got stanton 500's
haven't had any trouble in 2.5 years so far. And I do some heavy duty scratching (grin). |

I second that!
Ive had my stanton 500al's for almost a year and they still seem okay. I bought 2 more 500al's months ago expecting that my needles would be worn out, but they arent! They are good needles. |

Yea, 500al's!, i have them, and although they are seen to be as the standard, they to me are very good, durable, and good sound quality. Although i wouldn't mind saving up for some ortofon's!! concorde style for shure.....but get some 500al's....worth the money |

Trouble with Stantons is, they need loads of weight to get them to track properly. This is bad news for your vinyl.
Ortofon concordes - the only way to go. Brilliant tracking, and fantastic sound quality (much better than Stantons).
Can't say anything for the Shures as I haven't used them, but I've heard they eat vinyl for breakfast. Not good. |

Ortofons wear out too fast for my taste. Stanton all the way. :) |
