yea! ben's sound demos make it to tranceaddict! :D im trying to coax him into making a massive hypersaw strings patch. i should check the thread more often. hes a pretty good sound designer though so bear that in mind. to be honest most VAs these days work well as workhorse synths. an old access virus b is easily good enough to write everything off of. even the drums. it actually makes some pretty phat kicks.
i would also consider softies like vanguard and albino to be great workhorse synths though since they are capable of recreating a good chunk of most stock dance sounds.
word of caution: the virus is somewhat difficult to program. at least, more so than any non modular softy ive used. you really have to be conscious of what you are doing. and the mod options can be overwhelming sometimes. |
