I think it all depends on where you go and the type of crowd.

But yes a lot of TA's are stylin'

i dont think people who like edm can be classified as stylish .. you dont wear your good clothes to a dance party or even to a rap or pop concert for that matter ... people dress their finest when they go to lounges and other upscale clubs in which case their taste in music hardly dictates their sense of style

that ppl who listen to edm wear the most fashionable clothing? we do i think. rap/hip hop ppl have jeans starting from their knees and jerseys that go all the way down to their knees. death metal ppl dress like satin..leather, fur, chains, piercings all over the place. punkers/rockers are pretty much the same. oh and i hate those fuken ppl who put those button pins on theyre backpacks, that say some useless , or they write some garbage on it like "eat my children" which i saw once <---stay away from these nut cases.
^^^^aaall these ppl have no fuken taste and dress so tacky. cuz they dont give a fuk about anything. we dress normal and have style too. maybe that says something about the music too. that its normal hahaa. and cool;)
i dont kno, this just cross mind right now
wut do u think?

Since most all of us here are EDM people it is highly likely that most of us will share similar taste in clothing as well as some manner of a similar lifestyle. Because of this we will view the way in which we dress as "normal" for our small sub-cultural group. In this same manner the "hip-hop sub-culture" will view the way they dress as being normal. Any group of people sharing a commonality of tastes, values, and interests will view their tastes values and interests as "normal" (to their group if not all) and all others as abnormal. Your arguement is based on circular logic and therefore does not stand up.

BTW, you cannot seriouly believe that EDM is the norm simply because EDM listeners dress in a manner that is less of a departure from the traditional casual dress of North America then do the listeners of other musical genres. If you look at sales then EDM is in no way mainstream. If you look at listenership then easy listening/soft rock/pop/adult contemporary is the norm. Interestingly, listeners of this genre are likely to dress in the same manner that many of us do.... using your arguement of manner of dress and relating it with cultural norms and musical taste - the similarity between traditional casual dress and EDM style would indicate a strong corallation between EDM and easy listening/soft rock. I don't know about you but I'd say that Celine Dion has little in common with Bad Boy Bill and Elton John does is unlikely to have Chris Lawrence open a concert for him.

I'd say this can be true for house & Euro parties, but def. not all edm

I think there are ppl who like edm and go to the events dressed comfortably who look stylish (and certainly those who don't as well!). I don't think style necessitates dress shirts for men or heels for women. I see what you are saying tho, in that ppl definitely wear their best stuff out to longues and clubs where they won't be dancing until 6am (lol.. I sort of forgot what it was like to be out all night and made the stupid decision to wear a corset that def should have been reserved for a night out at a martini bar not the Guv!)

this is the craziest association i have ever heard of.

yup, we are dress well because we listen to EDM. that's just stupid. how does EDM listen ever cause dressing well.

we could say something more related like, people dress well when they go to a club. doesn't matter which one.

not only that but what you consider stylish is not what someone else can consider stylish. those death metal people dress like they do because they like the way it looks on them and on other death metal people.

i meant in general. not all edm ppl. and i really meant more trance ppl, then edm ppl. im not saying that just cuz we listen to trance that is why we dress nice. but the fact that we do dress better than the ppl that ive already mentioned, is true.

i mean look at wut armin, tiesto, pvd, etc etc wear. and then look at wut marylin mason wears, or wut 50 cent wears. u wanna tell me wuts more normal?
wen u go on an interview u wanna dress apropriately: suit, dress shoes, etc. now lets say u didnt do that but instead went in something that say armin wears. i defffinitely think that would be more appropriate then if u came to ur interviewer wearing something like wut marylin manson would wear. the guy wouldnt even think u were someone looking for an interview. he'll think ur some bum that wants to rob him (for ie. ok).
thats a perfect example for u. wuts normal wear and wat isnt.
