and this is the first kind of crap I have to read!!
As I stated earlier, it is a matter of discourse, not just language - knowledges are increasingly constituted in multisemiotic ways in contemporary society. Informations - or knowledge-based late modern societies are characterised, as Giddens has put it, by enchanced reflexivity - we are constantly reshaping our social practices on the basis of knowledge about those practices.This is the true domain of work but also, for instance, in how people conduct their personal relationships - the media are full of expert advise.
I hate it when people TRY to sound stuffy and pretentious. Im all for an expanded vocabulary, but wading through this bs is killin me! only 20 more pages to go :eyespop: |
