listening...
turn bass up a smidge if possible
nice percussion
the housey riff, got a bit bored of that after a while
getting more interesting now....
more nice percussion
i think with some more variation this could be a nice track. Doesn't really peak anywhere, which is possibly not a major blow considering the type of music. just maintains the same intensity more or less. Overall its a good production imo, but not my style. |

Ok the high hats are too loud. Overall you need to learn how to mix quite, have every sound have its place in the mix. Right now all you care about is maxing the level, that is not what it is all about.
That is all I can really suggest, because it really hurts the most on this song. The mixing is not done with love and care, it is thrown together.
I like the overall track, but that breakdown was weak and didn't cut it. I think that pad thing that rises and falls gets boring and should drop at the 3:20 intro to the new sound. Stop it for sure after, then you start modulating it making it pop out more.... I would have liked it to fade down really quite and be less part of the mix at that point will all the extra stuff you added and can't even hear it really.
Space is good in the mix and you stuffed every nook and crany in the upper range here and it just sounds stuffy.
Try mixing it listening to the mix more then looking at levels. Start early in the morning and mix the song quite at like 50-60 db and then maybe you will get it.
It took me a while to figure out what all those mixing books where talking about, but it helps now understanding what goes into a mix. |
