A track is either 'progressive' or 'trance'. It's simple.

Well, it has to be progressive something. Otherwise it's just progressive silence... which is... cool, and deep... and intelligent. :happy2: |

| I'm not sure how much these awards took into account online voting but their online voting system was pathetic. Basically you can vote however many times you want by giving them bogus emails despite having an "email validation" system. |

tbh mate, the nominations weren't great anyway, i mean they could only pick from so many, but there's all there that deserve in most cases |

Well, dance music's always been a bit thick. Observe:
Sasha: Son of God
He just plays records down at the disco on the weekends.
Progressive Trance

NaSa
Nice And Safe Attitude? God help us if there's a war...
2 Unlimited
All together now - "Techno, techno, techno, techno!"
Boy George's Hats
Were the acid house wars fought for this?
*Thanks to the much-missed Muzik mag for the info*:p |
You're pretty funny, but I can't laugh. Just had wisdom teeth out.
By the way, if I stood on my house and waved, could you see me? (In Wash. State) |

Wow,... to me, none of those songs are "underground"; in fact, I'd count them among the most commercial tracks I've heard in a long time!
And, man, I think 'Lola's Theme' really sucks. It sounds like something you would have heard on a crappy radio station during the 70's, in-between "Baby Elephant Walk" and some Jim Croce song. What a mind-pretzel. I need a nap. |

Welcome to the world of popularity contests, young TA. |

The IDMA's have traditionally been New York and Chicago commerical house based.
I agree that there are some whack nominations in there, but there is waay more trance and progressive repreesnted than in the past, which shows that the commercial side of the industry is recognizing this music.
I am happy to see PVD, Christopher Lawrence, Armin etc win. |
